Job Summary:

We are looking to hire an experienced and ambitious Business Analyst to join our team. Business Analysts (BAs) are responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business – they serve as intermediaries who help support and translate needs across business units and functions for IT development. BAs do this primarily through eliciting, analyzing, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, and identifying business priority by navigating the competing needs of multiple stakeholder groups. BAs may also document and analyze current and future state processes, write technical specifications, or take an active role in functional testing to ensure that the business requirements are met.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 3+ years of Business Analyst experience
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements gathering & analysis

Demonstrated Qualities:

  • Analytical thinking: This role requires the ability to successfully assess a business’ technical and operational needs and recommend innovative solutions, so strong analytical, data, and process assessment skills are vital
  • Requirements gathering: IT business analysts play an important role in driving requirements discovery, story mapping, and review. They are responsible taking high-level directions and creating detailed technical and business requirements, so they should have a strong grasp of best practices and validation processes in this area
  • Technical aptitude: Because this role bridges the gap between IT and business areas, the IT business analyst must be adept at understanding and communicating technical details and familiar with technologies and processes common to many organizations
  • Team coordination: Business analysts work closely with both IT teams and business decision-makers, so they should have strong interpersonal, team leadership, collaboration, and coordination skills. They should also be able to assert themselves in meetings, both internally and with clients
  • Communication skills: This role requires excellent written and verbal communication to successfully facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business stakeholder groups and IT team members, prepare business and technical documentation, develop training materials and reports, and to interact with team members and key decision-makers
  • Other qualities:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/Skills:

  • Experience working in an agile environment and participating in agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and sprint retrospective)

    • Experience and training with agile frameworks (primarily Scrum; Kanban is a plus)
    • Experience with developing and refining agile user stories; experience helping teams prioritize user stories appropriately and defining acceptance criteria
  • Experience working with waterfall projects and creating documentation (RASCI, RAID, Traceability Matrix, etc.)
  • Experience with entire software development life cycle (SDLC) and tools:

    • Agile/Requirements Solutions (e.g. Jira, Pivotal Tracker, Rally, Azure, etc.)
    • Reporting/Data Analytics Solutions (SQL, Google Analytics, Tableau, etc.)
    • Business Process Analysis and Workflow Modeling (MS Visio, PowerPoint, Lucid charts, etc.)
    • UAT development and execution solutions (Selenium, LambdaTest, Load Impact, Swagger, etc.)
  • IIBA Certification
