Job Description: We are seeking two dynamic and motivated Business Data Analysts to join a corporate-wide initiative within the Enterprise Data Office. The ideal candidates will possess strong fundamental Business Analyst skills, including eliciting requirements, concisely documenting findings, and working directly with both business and technical users to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, gather, and document requirements from stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with business and technical users to understand and address their data needs.

  • Design and develop databases, data integration, and visualization applications using MS SQL Server, BI Stack, Snowflake, and Azure.

  • Execute SQL queries and perform data processing (ETL).

  • Stand up consumable data sets for various consumption patterns like applications, analytics/insights, and reporting.

  • Utilize Power BI for report and dashboard creation and publishing for executive-level decision-making.

  • Perform data mining, including predictive behavior analysis, optimization, and customer segmentation analysis using SQL.

  • Create complex stored procedures, functions, indexes, tables, views, and other T-SQL code & SQL joins for applications.

  • Tune T-SQL queries to improve database performance.

  • Architect and implement ETL and data movement solutions using SSIS and Azure Data Factory.

  • Work independently while effectively collaborating with a global team.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong analytical skills.

  • Data processing experience (ETL) and ERP domain knowledge (commercial sales, customer, product-related data).

  • Experience in data flow, object modeling, and traceability.

  • Ability to assist developers in understanding requirements and data impacts.

  • Understanding of database architecture and design.

  • Familiarity with SAP and its integration with other tools.

  • High technical acumen in tuning T-SQL queries and enhancing Snowflake products and processes.

Technical Tools and Skills:

  • Database Programming:

    T-SQL, Dynamic SQL, MDX, DAX, SnowSQL.

  • Development Tools:

    BIDS, SSDT, SSMS.

  • Integration Tools:

    SSIS and Azure Data Factory.

  • Analysis Services:

    SSAS, OLAP Cubes, Tabular Model.

  • Reporting Tools:

    SSRS, Power BI, Excel Power BI, Tableau.

  • Source Control & Collaboration:

    Team Foundation Server (TFS), SharePoint, Azure DevOps.

  • Cloud Experience:

    Azure SQL, Azure Data Warehouses, Azure Data Factory, PowerShell, Azure Storage, Snowflake.

  • Database:

    SQL Server 2017, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2008/R2, Azure SQL, SnowSQL.

  • SDLC:

    Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral.

  • Data Modeling:

    ER-win, MS Visio.

  • Programming:

    Python, C#.

Work Environment: This position allows for remote work but will require occasional travel to locations in MN for team planning sessions. The role will also require participation in online meetings, starting as early as 7 AM CST, with a more typical start time of 7:30/8 AM CST most days.
